Pack up the picnic basket and blankets. Tonight marks the start of another season for Jazz on the Green, the annual concert series that brings you smooth music and summer fun.

Coming to Turner Park near Midtown Crossing for the third year, the concert series will bring different kinds of jazz, blues and swing bands from Omaha and elsewhere on six consecutive Thursdays beginning tonight.

Thousands of music fans attend the concerts each year on the lawn that gently slopes toward the stage.

So pop open that bottle of wine, listen to some good music and enjoy time with friends and family.

Mike Gurciullo & His Las Vegas Lab Band

Omaha native Mike "Gooch" Gurciullo is also a veteran entertainer in Las Vegas with his big band, the Las Vegas Lab Band. Gurciullo toured with Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians, was a featured soloist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and founded the Monterey Jazz Orchestra.
