Red Sky to skip one headliner

In its second year, Red Sky Music Festival at TD Ameritrade Park will go without one headliner, organizers announced Friday.

That means the festival will be cut from four days to three: July 18, 20 and 21. No bands will perform July 19, leaving a gap in the middle of the event. This is the second time organizers have trimmed the length of the festival, originally scheduled to run for six days.

A festival representative told The World-Herald last week that organizers still were searching for a fourth headliner, but apparently that search has come up short. That leaves the festival with country artists Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley and rockers Def Leppard in the headlining spots. Rascal Flatts plays on the 18th, Paisley on the 20th and Def Leppard on the 21st.

Also on Friday, the festival announced its second stage lineup, which will include country singer Logan Mize and others. Free admission to the second stage is being sponsored by TD Ameritrade.
