Travis Dunekacke has a farm-to-table dream, and he wants everyone to be part of it.
Dunekacke runs TD Niche Pork, a name you may have seen listed before pork dishes on restaurant menus all over town. Each year, he raises 500 purebred, heritage-breed pigs in a way he says is good for the animals and the land.

He's one of a few dozen farmers in Nebraska who raise hogs this way, and he does it because he believes it's better. He's worked in traditional pork operations, and he says the product simply isn't as good. So five years ago, he started something new.
"At first, I was on a mission to take down the system," he said. "But now I want to create a marriage between the two systems. People can eat some of their food locally and some of it from large producers. I think that's a good thing."
He's selling his pork to chefs all over eastern Nebraska.
