Creighton men's soccer coach Elmar Bolowich decided to use the first half of the Jays' final exhibition game against the University of Nebraska at Omaha to experiment with personnel in the hopes of finding some combinations that could be used successfully in the regular season.

But after a scoreless first half that saw a scrappy Maverick team, playing in just its second season in Division I, hang with the third-ranked Bluejays, Bolowich stopped experimenting and went with what he knew.

The Bluejays outshot UNO 13-2 in the second half, and Eric Miller's goal in the 74th minute off a cornerkick by Jose Ribas finally sealed it for the Jays, as they went on to win the final exhibition game of the season for both teams 1-0 in front of 1,640 at Morrison Stadium.

Creighton finished 1-0-1 during the exhibition season after Friday's 3-3 draw against No.
