Four months removed, Troy Jutting and Mike Hastings have effectively traded places.
Jutting, who spent the past 12 seasons as the head coach at Minnesota State-Mankato, has been hired as an assistant coach by Dean Blais at UNO. Hastings, UNO's former associate coach, took over for Jutting at MSU in April.
Jutting is a career-long Maverick. After playing for the MSU Mavericks and then spending 10 years there as an assistant coach, he went 184-224-55 as a head coach and was twice named coach of the year in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
"I'm very excited and looking forward to it," Jutting said. "Coach Blais is one of the best, if not the best, in college hockey, and there's a great group of kids there. It's a program that's definitely on the rise. I hope I can be a valuable addition to the coaching staff."
Jutting's program at MSU was in rebuilding mode after going 12-24-2 overall and 8-18-2 for 11th place in the 12-team WCHA.
