Two groups, one event: The Run For Doug, which supports stomach cancer awareness and research, and Can't Stomach Cancer, which raises money for research and provides education and support to patients and their families, will have a fundraiser run, beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 8 at Chalco Hills Recreation Center, 8901 S. 154th St. at Wehrspann Lake. The 5K run/walk will cost $25; the 1-mile fun walk will be $15 per participant or $45 for a family of three or more; and free for children younger than 12. Not free-falling: Do you have the courage to go Over the Edge to raise money for the Mid-America Council of Boy Scouts? Those who sign up and raise at least $1,000 each have the opportunity to rappel nearly 500 feet down the Woodmen Tower on Sept.
