College to dedicate Lincoln addition

Southeast Community College will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday for the newest addition to its Lincoln Campus: a welcome center-classroom space.

The public is invited to attend the 2:30 p.m. event at 8800 O St. Activities, tours and refreshments will follow the short ceremony.

Music festival in Iowa a 7-day extravaganza

The 37th annual National Old-Time Music Fest will be Aug. 27 to Sept. 2 at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds in Le Mars, Iowa.

The 9 a.m. to midnight festival will be presented on 10 stages and also will include arts and crafts items, workshops, showcases, free watermelon, free ice cream and a free potluck meal.

One-day admission is $15 for people 18 and older. Younger people are admitted free. A seven-day pass is $65.
