The WESTCO Zephyrs senior legion baseball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end after falling to the hands of Arvada (Colo.) Diamond Club, 4-0, on Saturday night in the Scottsbluff Screenprinting Wood Bat Classic held at Cleveland Field.

The Zephyrs fall to 35-19 on the season and 2-1 in the tournament leading into today's final game against Chadron.

"They're a very good team," WESTCO coach Mark Moran said of the Diamond Club team. "Eric [Moreno] pitched very well, and those guys are definitely the real thing."

Eric Moreno, who took the loss on the mound for WESTCO, gave up four runs on seven hits and recorded eight strikeouts in the complete game.

"Eric pitched very well," Moran said. " That's a hard team, you can see the experience of those guys. They didn't swing at many pitches out of the strike zone and Eric couldn't fool them with the curveball the whole game.
