The first day of Nebraska football practice came with several roster announcements and confirmations from NU coach Bo Pelini.

>> Ryan Klachko, a four-star offensive line recruit from Springfield, Ill., has decided to transfer. The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder was part of a touted 2011 class of offensive linemen.

"We have a culture around here and if somebody doesn't feel they fit into that culture - for whatever reason - he decided to take his talents elsewhere," Pelini said. "I wish him well."

Reached by phone, Klachko said, "I'm not doing any comments."

>> Redshirt freshman Todd Peat, Jr., also a four-star recruit from the 2011 class, did not make the 105-man roster. Lingering effects from a knee injury suffered last year was only "part" of why Peat didn't make it, Pelini said.
