Junior cornerback Andrew Green was a key member of the Nebraska secondary in 2011, starting 10 games. Green, at 6-foot and 195 pounds, is one of five players returning to the Husker defensive backfield who have extensive starting experience.

Q: Is it a different feeling this year not having your brother, running back Aaron Green, who transferred to TCU after last season?

A: We're really close and I talk to him every day. Even though I don't see him every day we're still close.

Q: You had a big spring practice season and you're one of the veterans now. How is your confidence coming into this season compared to last year?

A: I feel like my confidence is getting more and more as I go. I'm just trying to learn and become a better ballplayer from (defensive backs) Coach (Terry) Joseph. He's helped us out a lot just with the mental game. That's where I feel like a lot of my confidence comes from.
