The first day of Nebraska football practice came with several roster announcements and confirmations from NU coach Bo Pelini.

>>>Ryan Klachko, a four-star offensive line recruit from Springfield, Ill., has decided to transfer. The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder was part of a touted 2011 class of offensive linemen.

“We have a culture around here and if somebody doesn’t feel they fit into that culture – for whatever reason — he decided to take his talents elsewhere,” Pelini said. “I wish him well.”

Reached by phone, Klachko said, “I’m not doing any comments.”

>>>Redshirt freshman Todd Peat, Jr., also a four-star recruit from the 2011 class, did not make the 105-man roster. Lingering effects from a back injury suffered last year was only “part” of why Peat didn’t make it, Pelini said. He is still part of the team. Guard Nick Ash is the other scholarship player who didn’t make the 105.

>>>2012 defensive recruits Jared Afalava and Alonzo Moore are still waiting for the nod from the NCAA on their academic eligibility.
