LINCOLN - It would have been difficult Monday night to find someone more excited about going to school than Deverell Biggs.
The former Omaha Central star said he was on his way to Lincoln after being admitted and enrolled at Nebraska, where the junior college All-American will have three years to play two with the Husker basketball team.
"It's been a very stressful summer,'' Biggs told The World-Herald. "I'm glad everything is done with.''
Biggs, after finishing the season at Seward County (Kan.) Community College, needed more hours to get his degree in order to enroll at NU, which signed him to a letter of intent in April.
The 6-foot point guard went to Central CC in Columbus, Neb., over the summer to complete his work.
"I got it done,'' Biggs said. "Now, I've got my housing and my schedule. And I'll be in class tomorrow.''
Biggs is expected to sit out the 2012-13 season as a redshirt.
