Twenty five days over a year's time.
From the time they met until the day they married, that's how long Nancy and Harold Meadows spent together.
Nancy's mother worried that the two didn't know each other well enough.
That was more than 40 years ago.
Step back to summer 1967.
Nancy Hanafan and Harold Meadows showed up that July at the same house party in Council Bluffs.
Just a bunch of young people dancing to the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Supremes.
Nancy was 18, and had graduated the year before from Thomas Jefferson High in Council Bluffs.
Harold was 22, and had finished up at Thomas Jefferson a few years earlier.
He was home on leave from the Navy. Harold was stationed at a naval base in Newport, R.I., and was back in Council Bluffs for 11 days.
Wearing a madras plaid shirt and jeans, he started out dancing with one of Nancy's friends.
Soon he was dancing with Nancy, wearing black bell bottoms and a yellow top.
