LINCOLN - Nebraska basketball's summer open house found a couple of buyers.
New coach Tim Miles spent a chunk of his first four months on the job inviting high school prospects to see NU's facilities and his blueprint for upgrading a culture of mediocrity.
Friday, two of those prospects - both three-star perimeter players - committed to the Huskers for the 2013 recruiting class. And Nick Fuller and Nate Hawkins plan to make their next priority persuading a top front-court target - Omaha Central star Akoy Agau - to join them.
Hawkins - a 6-foot-5, 190-pound combo guard from suburban Dallas - and Fuller - a 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward from Sun Prairie, Wis. - both cited high-energy meetings with Miles as their reasons for committing.
"Coach Miles has a passion for the game and a drive to win," Fuller said. "And he has a drive to turn around the program ... he's showed me what his plans are for this program and my role in it.
