LINCOLN - For almost eight months, the Nebraska volleyball team lived with the taste of being upset at home by Kansas State in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Big Ten champion and second-ranked Huskers' season was cut short.

"It was hard to put into words," senior setter Lauren Cook said at the team's media day Friday.

Junior Morgan Broekhuis added: "We did not expect to be at that place, at that time. We didn't know what to feel."

In front of reporters at the NU Coliseum, Husker players and coaches again wore their feelings about the abrupt end to last season on their sleeve. Or more accurately, on their wrists.

Always big on symbols, coach John Cook unveiled this season's talisman - a black, rubber wristband with the words "Unfinished Business" written in script.
