As country acts Logan Mize and The Farm played in the summer sun Wednesday, the crowd at the Red Sky Music Festival ballooned to a few hundred people.
The groups played on Stage B, located in Parking Lot B, which is directly in front of the CenturyLink Center Omaha and to the south of TD Ameritrade Park. The acts on Stage B are free to the public.
Inside TD Ameritrade, where the main stage is situated, Edens Edge and the Eli Young Band played for a growing crowd of thousands. Country band Rascal Flatts was the opening night headliner.
Some festivalgoers wore cowboy hats and jeans, while others were clad in T-shirts, shorts and sundresses to beat the heat.
Though the sun was on its way down around 8 p.m., it was still hot inside the ballpark, even in the shade.
