Government offices, courthouses and utilities' nonemergency services will be closed on Wednesday in observance of Independence Day.
Here is how the holiday will affect other public services:
Mail: no delivery
Parking meters: no coins needed
Garbage collection: no collection Wednesday in Omaha or Council Bluffs; pickup delayed one day all week
Newspaper: morning delivery for all World-Herald subscribers
Libraries: closed
Omaha Metro: buses will not run
