Omaha Central basketball star Akoy Agau is considering a transfer to a Maryland school that plays a national schedule.

Agau will visit Montrose Christian in Rockville, Md., on Tuesday. The private school lost last season in the semifinals of the ESPNHS National High School Invitational.

"When I go, I'm packing to stay," Agau told The World-Herald on Friday night. "If I decide I like it, I'm staying there. If not, I'm coming back."

Central coach Eric Behrens on Friday night declined to comment on the situation.

Agau said his friendship with a few of Montrose Christian's players through club basketball fueled the notion of leaving Central, where he has started on three consecutive Class A state championship teams and led the Eagles on their current 36-game winning streak.

"They came up with the idea," he said. "They told me about their school. Their coach came and watched me play. I'll check out the school and take it from there.
