Costume designer Mary Ianelli, an Omaha native, has won a Daytime Emmy as costume designer for the soap opera "General Hospital." It was her second nomination.

Ianelli graduated from Burke High School in 1985 and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha before retail clothing work led to a transfer to the Los Angeles area. Her parents are Patrick and Frances White, who live near 120th and Pacific Streets.

She has been a costumer for movies and television for 16 years, including serving as assistant costumer with Oscar nominee Rita Ryack on movies like Adam Sandler's "You Don't Mess With the Zohan." She has been "General Hospital's" costumer for four years.

Ianelli said her Emmy reel, 20 minutes of scenes edited from five shows over the past year, included a graduation, a wedding and other big-cast scenes. The show has 30 regulars plus extras.
